This week we present you a group of shows that focus on latinx characters and their inspiring/amusing storylines. Some of these shows are not new, but they’re all timeless. They all do a phenomenal job at putting a spotlight into the lovable latinx family dynamic and the everyday issues our community faces. The great thing about them is that anyone can relate to the situations experienced by these characters since the problems portrayed are universal.

This series focuses on a Mexican American family and their struggles keeping a small business alive while living in Los Angeles, California. It’s impossible to not fall in love with all the characters and to not identify with them in numerous ways.
2. “ON MY BLOCK” (3 Seasons available on Netflix)
Rated: TV-MA (Comedy, Drama)
This series focuses on a group of teenage friends who must make tough decisions as they grow up in the streets of Los Angeles, California. The humor is different but the situations definitely pull at the heartstrings. This series is worth watching since it takes you back to those awkward high school days and the pressures that came along with them.
3. “VIDA” (3 Seasons available on Starz)
Rated: TV-MA (Comedy, Drama)
This series is about two Mexican American sisters from the Eastside of Los Angeles who have to adapt to unexpected changes in their lives. This series is beautifully told through powerful characters and their drive to thrive. Everyone can relate to the struggles shown in this show. C’mon this series deserves a 4th season!!!
4. “ONE DAY AT A TIME” (4 Seasons total. 3 first Seasons are available on Netflix and the 4th and Final Season is available on the CBS website)
Rated: TV-PG (Comedy, Drama)
Rita Moreno steals the show in this hilarious sitcom that centers around a very hilarious Cuban American family. The topics discussed in this show are very necessary and it’s very refreshing to see them played out humorously on-screen. The various views based on the different generations is entertaining to say the least. Bring this show back!!!
5. “The Baker And The Beauty” (1 Season available on Netflix)
Rated: TV-PG (Comedy, Drama)
This romantic comedy/drama series showcases how a Cuban American baker from Miami, Florida falls in love with an international superstar. The consequences from dating someone who is extremely famous makes this series appealing. The love this family has for one another is one every familia should aspire to have. This show deserves to have a second season.
